Ultimate Staffing is proud to partner with a premier client in the search for their next Payroll Clerk. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity located in Fresno County. We're looking for a detail-oriented professional with prior payroll experience who is ready to join a dynamic and supportive team.

Position Overview:

The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll and related functions, handling employee reimbursements, assisting with accounts payable, and supporting general fiscal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process compensation using payroll software
  • Collect and verify employee timekeeping data
  • Calculate pay, including overtime, bonuses, and commissions
  • Manage payroll taxes and deductions
  • Prepare and issue payments via checks or direct deposit
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
  • Update employee payroll information (e.g., pay rate changes, status updates)
  • Handle unemployment and severance calculations
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from staff and management
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Generate and submit payroll reports to supervisors

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with payroll taxes and California labor laws
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Paylocity, ADP)
  • Excellent math, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
